What we collect

Full name, student number, phone, email, institution, and the details of the issue you are reporting (category, year, funding status, optional description).

Proof of registration

If you verify by uploading a proof-of-registration document, we use automated verification tools to confirm it is a valid registration document and extract your name, student number and institution. The operating team may also view the document image to check accuracy and identify any issues with the system. The document image is kept for up to 7 days and then deleted.

What we publish

Only aggregate counts — by province, institution and issue category. Free-text descriptions are never published.

Why we collect contact details

Your email address is used to match returning submissions to your existing record so the public picture is accurate. Contact details also let you return to update or add to your record without an account, using a magic link sent to your email.

Access

Personal details are accessible only to the small operating team for the purpose of verifying data quality and complying with POPIA requests. They are never sold and never shared with NSFAS or third parties without your explicit consent.

You may request access, correction or deletion of your record at any time using the Update record flow, or by contacting the operating team here.
